Task

Turn your plans into specific actions, connect them to Focus sessions, and see real progress, not just checkboxes.

1What tasks are for

Tasks are the action layer. Notes hold your material, cards help you recall it, maps show how it connects, tasks tell you what to actually do next.

A task can stand alone or belong to a milestone. Link Focus sessions to it and you see actual time against planned work, real momentum, not just a checkbox.

For example

“Revise chapter 3” showing “Estimated 45m · Focused 32m” tells you far more than a box marked done.

2Creating a useful task

Smart input does the parsing for you.

  1. Type naturally, “Math homework tomorrow 8pm 45min !!!”.
  2. FocusPace pulls out the title, due time, duration, and priority as editable chips.
  3. Adjust any chip, or add a description and subtasks.
Tip

Keep titles specific enough to start without re-planning. “Study biology” is too vague; “Revise chapter 3 photosynthesis diagrams” you can begin right away. Priority shows as a colour, HIGH in red, LOW in blue.

3Working on a task

In the Plan tab, today's tasks are sorted by priority, each showing its estimate and any focus time logged. Tap the play icon to drop straight into a linked Focus session (or pick the task from the Focus screen). Every focused minute feeds back into its progress automatically.

For example

After a session you might see “Estimated 45m · Focused 32m · Remaining 13m”, so you know exactly how much more it needs.

4Tips for good task habits

Start titles with a verb, “revise chapter 3”, “solve 20 questions”. If a task feels too big to begin, split it: “Write essay” becomes “Outline structure”, “Draft intro”, “Find 3 sources”.

Tip

Estimate honestly. If you keep guessing 30 minutes for hour-long tasks, the insights show the pattern, and your plans get more realistic over time.
